Clean place with a huge variety of cans and bottled beers in coolers and 16 beers on draft at all times. The food is really good and nothing seems to be priced over $7 so it won't break your wallet. In particular the hot dogs and personal pizzas are my favorite thing to order. The staff is beyond friendly and knowledgeable about all of their products. There are ample TVs set up and there is even a relaxing lounge with couches in the front. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who doesn't know about it.

This place is dope. The employees are very helpful. Think the owner might be racist though.

Couple of issues with this place.
    1. Prices are outrageously expensive for the selection offered.

    2. Selections brutal. Not to place to go if you want good local craft. Two complete shelves of stone, lagunitas and firestone.

    3. Old beer at full price (see point 1). Any IPA drinker knows the 90/3 month rule. They have a plethora of IPAs canned in late 2018 or early 2019 still on shelves at full price. This to me is a cardinal sin.

Plenty of other distributors or breweries near by that are 1000x.

Pennsylvania FINALLY reaching the 20th Century for alcohol distribution (Read: Still far behind but getting there as fast as Septa) has benefited a number of businesses exponentially! And Beer Shoppe is one of those spots that has benefited so much that it earned a review update!

With the ability to serve spirits and wine on their hands, the Shoppe set out to make some significant improvements since last review. For physical improvements they had significanly improved upon the seating in the original bar that they had, making the perfect spot to imbibe on  a rarer draft while watching a Phillies game or taking part in their quizzo night. In addition they did away with the spot that held beer cases on display (not for full purchase as I had since learned after the previous review), and added a chill front lounge with plenty of chairs, a comfortable couch, and a large screen tv.

Thanks to PA finally being in the 20th century, the solid beer bar in the back is also now a damn good whiskey bar that also does a couple cocktails and has a decent wine list. While still mostly of the fried variety, the menu also goes beyond hot dogs.

If it had something in place like a 10% mix a six discount like Bottle Shop, Foods & Friends, Greeks Next Door, and a number of other beer spots have, The Shoppe would probably rank as the best beer shop that Philly and its surrounding suburbs has to offer. But even without it, its still a damn good beer destination that's worthy of a visit.

The beer shoppe continues to amaze.  The staff is always friendly and helpful with great beer recommendations.  They now offer wine by the glass as well as some great cocktail selections not to mention a stellar Bourbon list.  The food here is secretly one of the best options around (considering the price). 4 bucks for nachos with chili, long hots, onion, and tomato... yum!!  They have quizzo on Monday nights 7-9 and the crowd is good.  Happy hour is 5-7, $1 off all pints.  They now have a small lounge in the front of the store in addition to the bar and high top that is along the back right, much improved.  Love the local crowd and feel!  Viva Beer Shoppe!

I still can't give them that last star for 2 major flaws...
1 - Growlers are prices are quite high, maybe they should be listed on the menu if you're going to not give a volume discount.
2 - They do not allow credit card tipping. Which I assume the owners don't really care about because it doesn't affect them.  Time and again I see people accidentally stiff the bar staff because they don't have cash on them... What a joke, it's 2017, get with the times!
